It's a shame it's so stringently following the anime's storyline. Otherwise, maybe the next book would avoid that godawful time-skip that sucked anything original and worth watching out of the TV series.

I certainly didn't expect to see a review for this up. I just bought this recently in a section at a bookstore labeled "This will never sell, make us an offer". I haven't gotten around to reading any of it, it's at the bottom of my pile right now, but it sounds like I didn't waste my money at least.
