I know it has yet to release in Japan (I believe July 23) but anyone have any spectualtion on when the states might get the dubbed copy. Adult Swim is already up to epi 24 or 25 which is about halfway through the series (and yes I do know what happens at the end... grr... spoiler friends....) Anyway, I was just wondeirng if anyone had heard anything about an American company picking it up to dub and release it since Adult Swim apparently is not going after the rights for it. Thanks!

It's very likely that Funimation will release it (in late 2006/2007) once they finish releasing all the current dvd. And that's still along way to go with 13 DVD and they're at volume 2 with a 2 month in-between period.

I think it would only make sense for funi to have the movie rights and imm shure it will be distributed in within the next year or so.

Well, I'm sure that if Funi does already have rights to the movie, they probably can't distribute it until there's a DVD release in Japan, and if the movie comes out in theatres there in July, the Japanese DVD release will probably be Spring '06 so that means darkhunter's guess of late '06/early '07 sounds about right

That sounds reasonable to me too. If the adult swim run of season 2 starts in September, it should finish around May 2006. I don't see them releasing the movie before that, as from what I understand the movie will wrap up the series. A few months after the adult swim run would build anticipation without being so long a wait that it would kill interest. |

2nd season in Septemember, nice. AS has been running it for quite a while without re-runs *worried* They never seem to do that with anything else. I hope it keeps up since FMA is kinda short (only 51 episodes vs somehtig like Inuyasha with 167)
