The fight is over... all the facts are in, and you decide the winner

over 150 posts and over 3 hours of debate

This thread originally started on animenation but I thought it would be interesting to bring this debate here

http://www.animenation.net/forums/showthread.php?t=179399&page=1&pp=15

Obviously, we know who won that debate

Not this again. How in the hell is a machine built for military warfare supposed to go up against a biomechanical construct created for the sole purpose of fighting aliens? Obviously an Eva would win (although maybe not against a Newtype).

Also, I know that the Angels aren't really aliens; they're actually an alternate form of humanity.

Well I would think that an EVA would win, just because of the A.T. Field. It required at minimum 180 billion kilowatts to penetrate the 5th Angel's A.T. Field.(Episode 6) So for arguments sake, lets assume that the Wing Gundam Zero Custom is the most powerful Mobile Suit construcrted in any Gundam universe. According to Animerica's Gundam Official Guide, the Wing Zero Custom's generator output was 3732 kilowatts. Not even close to 180,000,000,000 kilowatts. And that is assuming that the Gundam is putting its all into the shot, ommiting life support, energy required to move the suit, etc. An S2 engine would eliminate the vulnerability of losing power, but really it all depends on who is fighting who, and how each unit is equiped.

I'm going to say the same thing I said in the "ultimate gundam" topic, both series run on completely different sets of rules so it isn't really possible to compare them fairly, especially since something like this would just turn into an arguement between Gundam and Eva fans

And it started with the second reply ...
What are the odds of this actully turning out to be a debate and not just some pie throwing contest between Eva and Gundam fans?

Play SRW then go judge for yourself :p

As far as the in-game performance is concerned, as much as i like EVA, Amuro, Char, and kamire just kick too much ass.

But Shin-Getter blows everything out of the water.

Two reasons why this thread is completely pointless:

1. If you nerdalyze this little "debate" (as in, analyze it from the nerd's perspective), you'd realise that it's a no-contest; you're pitting what's essentially a simple war machine that, at its tallest, is only about 22 meters and is usually equipped with little more than head-mounted chainguns, a beam sword, and beam gun, to a celestial being encased in biomechanical armor that's more than 200 feet tall that wields a versatile psychic field and is capable of deflecting conventional weaponry with relative ease. I mean...hell, where did this idea even start anyway? These two machines have nothing in common with each other; it'd make more sense to pit Gundams against the Valkyries from Macross, for Heaven's sake.

2. Vs. threads are always completely inane and never generate any worthwhile discussion.

And because this is not only a Vs. thread, but a Vs. thread built around a completely ridiculous and poorly-conceived pairing, it gets the lock. It gets the hard lock.
