Hi! Now, I don't know if we are allowed to post topics on video games, but here goes.
Anyways, if anyone here had watched the new episode of X-Play on G4Tech TV last night, you'll know what I'm talking about. I was really surprised that Adam and Morgan said they were "looking forward" to the One Piece game because normally they would diss most of the anime games they had to show and review. The way they told the preview seemed like they might like this game as compared to the other anime games they've shown. However, there was still a sense that they might review it in the same way as they do with Pokemon and Full Metal Alchemist games because there were moments where it seemed like they were hating it such as when they compared the One Piece pirates to other pirates in games. So, anyways what's your opinion on the game? I really enjoyed the fact the backgrounds were interactive and open and the graphics don't seem that bad. I hope they give it a good review. |

To be fair, half the anime games in the States are bad. Fullmetal Alchemist is short, dull, and pretty much dumb button mashing. Dragonball B 3 is the best Dragonball fighter. I did catch the review and they did poke fun at it, like they do all games. I haven't played this One Piece fighter yet, but it look pretty good. Too bad the rap song is there. |

Is the one they're bringing over Grand Battle? I played that this weekend and it was pretty fun. It's not as good as Naruto Gekitaisen, and I didn't quite get the super system, but it was fun anyways. It played like Power Stone, in which you collect items to charge your super bar, and the environments are highly interactive. I missed the ability to Kawarimi though, getting caught in a combo was not fun.
Also the supers are WIERD, in that they not only mimic the special attacks the character performed on the show, but they go so far as to be SET in those scenes, so for example (no spoilers), I was playing Zoro against Luffy, and we were fighting in a Neatherland's looking level in a field, and then he did his super on me, and suddenly we were both in a certain Egyptian tomb and he did a certain attack combo on me that fans of the anime or manga would know what I'm talking about, and then suddenly we were back in the field and I'd taken a lot of damage. That takes Shikamaru's Gekitaisen super to whole new levels. I somehow doubt that they're bringing that one over though, since it contains spoilers and characters from WAY beyond where the show is now. |
