Lately I've been seeing a slight rise in locked threads and i'm just wondering if other people have suggestions to help out nagisa when he isn't here. It seems no one reads teh rules and only makes more work for Nagisa. Also it'd be nice to go on the first page without seeing locked threads. Well heres my suggestion: how about a week long lock on the person's account? Any other?

putting a week lock is dumb. its just because they didn't read the rules. when their thread is locked, they then understand and will stop posting inappropriate threads. maybe after they register, have a popup or something and post the basic forum rules down.
edit: btw, iono if this is the appropriate forum to have this thread anyway...

Let the moderators do their jobs, and I can't see how locked threads could in any way bother you as well.

I would suggest integrating the rules into the registration process, that way you can't miss them and everyone is held more responsible for knowing them. Also, I imagine that most people signing up on any forum aren't aware that the forum might have any rules. But aside from that, yes, leave the moderating to the moderators. If you think a post is in violation of the rules, report it using the "!" button. And I believe posting something to feed the trolls could fall under the jurisdiction of Rule #3 which states, "Threads and topics should carry some measure of intelligence to them. Consider if what you are writing is relevant or important to others. If it does not contribute to the discussion, do not post it. Please post detailed answers to questions, lists and one-liners do not contribute."

c'm on... you expect people to actually read everything when they register? seriously, do you realize how few people even take the time to do more than scan over all that text? heck, I know people who get impatient enough scrolling thru all that "useless junk" when they register.

The best thing I've read in this entire thread.
Locked. We've discussed this at great lengths elsewhere and the Anime forum really isn't the most appropriate place for it, anyway. And short of the fact that a certain pair of people spammed up the place something royal yesterday, I don't think we've really had that many loked threads. No more than usual, anyway.
