Well, the animation for Saiyuki Gaiden isn't as bad as the first Saiyuki anime. Not that that's saying much. It could be watchable, as long as the fights are done decently.

Yeah...There is some really weird art in that teaser. While a lot of it looks nice, some of it...I mean, what was up with Nataku's head in his first appearance? Or Goku's head for that matter?

I actually like the art from the first Saiyuki series. I think Sanzo was drawn better in the original release then the subsequent series. In the later series, Sanzo's head is disproportionately aligned with his shoulders, often given him a bulky look. As a matter of fact, the only thing I wish the original had done correctly was Gojo's hair, which was later corrected, because no matter how you looked at it pink hair did not remind me of blood.
I think Saiyuki's one of the rare shows I've seen where the artwork keeps getting worse. And Gaiden looks like it is carrying on this tradition. What's with everyone's face being shaped weirdly.
