i wanted the opening and ending songs for anime and my thread got locked it's not illigal to download opening and ending to anime it's not like i want an eps.

Don't go there. Trust me, it's a losing battle with these people. PM the person and ask politely if you want, but 9/10 you won't be satisfied.

It's called Zero Tolerance. If you don't like it, feel free not to post, or alternativley, take it up in PM with the various moderators, failing that, an admin. It'll be a loosing battle though, and chances of anything being done about it are even less than none sicne you decided to bring down attention on the situation. |

Well correct me if I am wrong but the whole point of not alowing the request of downloading is because it is illegal. The songs are copyrighted and therefore it is illegal materials if you do not buy it on a soundtrack. Also if you are looking for the songs, i.e. music shouldn't this thread be in the music forum if it were allowed. |

You know, some of ADV's and Geneon's anime "trailers" just use the opening sequences (or bits of it). You can probably check them out at their official websites.

First you ask why is bootleg consider bad and now you're asking for opening and closing downloads. Is there anything you do that isn't illegal?

This is a website that has rules and will enforce rules. All you have to do is follow them. And it's illegal to download opening/ending theme songs without permission....which normally is found at websites for the anime if they're generous.
But since ANN can't be sure if the website is given is legal and if it has permission. So instead of taken the chance and assuming people would be responsible enough not to give illegal website downloading they have to restrict any website downloading to be posted on the forums and doesn't allow for asking the website so noone posts any websites. It's really simple to understand. |

Why are you asking that Steve? I'm just trying to explain it this guy why it's not allowed, people explained the lgeal aspect of it telling him the downloading is illegal but noone told him why ANN won't allow it. I'm giving a reasonable explanation.

Does it really matter? Point is, it's against the rules, he can PM a mod or admin to sort this out.
