Let's see, Crest of the Stars 4:30 PM EST, Dual at 11 to Midnight. Yeah. Plus they have Lain coming on next week after Dual is done and Armitage was on last night. And then there's Betterman and Silent Mobies. Yeah, they have more then one.

They used to show one at a time, but with their new 4:30 slot, they now show 2 shows in the same day. Their stuff is mostly uncensored, but not unedited. CN shows Cowboy Bebop with the intro and ending and still doesn't have to edit for time, but Tech TV shows so many commericals, they edit for time even when they cut out the intros or endings. I find that to be rather lame.

Atleast they are showing series that CN won't touch like Armitage and Duel. Just becasue TechTV does have all the money like CN so they can air less ads, doesn't mean everyone should get up set that they twice as many ads CN.

It's not about the ads. It's about editing out part of the show to make room for the ads.

Though, I don't get TechTV so it doesn't much matter to me Wink

And you can prove that they have less ads how? Tech TV has some very long spameriffic ads. Some of the late night ones are especially annoying. That ad for the nude celeberities video is sick! Tech TV keeps the intro to their shows and takes out the ending yet the shows run from 1:00 AM to 1:30 AM, unlike the shows on CN which end a few minutes before the next show with fewer commerical breaks. Maybe CN times their ads better, but I recorded Silent Mobius on tape and I can comfirm that they take up more space than Cartoon Network's shows and it's not because of the actual show.

I do like how they don't censor their anime, but I'm trying to point out that edits for time on shows of that length aren't really necessary, though they are mostly intact. I do agree that Tech TV is going farther with the lack of edits and I was surprised to see some of the nudity in Silent Mobius, but, to be honest, I would rather see more of the anime with a few minor edits like Trigun than see less of it unedited. Maybe it's just me, but I thought I was missing some important plot info when I watched Silent Mobius and Crest of the Stars(the dub for both of those shows are really cheesy, but I found the shows to be enjoyable despite this).

As for CN not having the guts to air Dual. I saw part of that show and I think that "not having the guts" to air that show might actually be a good thing. The Tenchi Muyo OVAs actually aired on CN in edited form. While the edits didn't help the show and they were edited for time because of their longer than usual length, they were still highly entertaining despite this. The Tenchi TV series had much less edits, though. Tenchi in Tokyo actually aired with many unedited episodes and mostly intact. Too bad the entertainment value of the other Tenchi series was not intact. I actually think CN has too much guts sometimes. Editing down a series with as much nudity and innuendos as the Tenchi OVAs with no video available for the edited versions for a children's time slot.

What exactly makes the content in Dual more objectionable than the content in Trigun? I think CN has gotten away with quite a bit when showing this show. Some of the edits are questionable(as usual), but they don't hurt the show and the show is mostly intact.

I have to say opps about the Dual, but keeping stuff like the "feeling" in Duel, it would cut with out a second thought on CN part. I'm sure CN can air Dual, Betterman, etc, but the fact AU doesn't cut blood, nudity, and cussing because of contant but for time is alittle better.

But the ads, I wants less ad during AU, yes, but that also means less ads for X-Play, Tech Live, Screen Savers, Thunderbirds, and etc. To ask for less ads for one show, is like asking for less ads for the rest and that would means less money for Tech TV that could be spending on new shows, keeping the current ones running, and, of course, new anime. I don't run the comany, work for it, or had any part in the biz at one time, but after watching show like X-Play, Tech Live, and Thunderbirds after a while, they spend just about time airing ad as they do durning AU. Sure, edits for time bites, but I watch it for watch series to buy, just like I did when CN aired Outlaw Stars. *L* I hate those "Make it bigger." and "Make it last longer." ads too.

CN does commerical runs like the japanese (atleast thats what I've noticed from Raw anime TV caps with the commercials intact) do one long commerical break.
