Since there's a thread similar in the manga forum, I thought maybe I'd start one like that here.

Two anime that I stopped watching would probably be Zatch Bell and Magical Do Re Mi. I guess I don't really get into the whole story and all with Zatch Bell and after watching the Dragonball series, I'm really not into starting another long series besides the other ones I'm already watching.
Magical Do Re Mi was a little too cute for me and really boring. I'm not into the whole magical girl thing; especially at 8 o'clock in the morning! The only shows that had the magical girl theme in it I ever got into was Sailor Moon and Cardcaptors Sakura.

I don't think I've ever stopped collecting a series, but then again I haven't collected that many series anyways.

Inuyasha - way tooo long and stretched out, got boring from naraku never getting killed, etc.

all the adult swim shows - it's too tedious to record and i'd rather get my sleep =D

pokemon - out grew it, moved on

Digimon -- Lost interest after season 1

Case Closed -- Adult Swim will probably never buy the rights to new episodes, and I'm too cheap to buy DVDs for such a long series.

Dragonball/Z/GT -- plot goes nowhere and I really don't care about all those crappy "sagas."

Zatch Bell -- Just stopped for some reason. I don't know why; I kinda liked it.

Okusama wa joshikousei -- too much pointless fanservice, unlikeable main character (think Sakuraba Aoi from Ai yori aoshi, but somehow more insecure and subservient), and too much emphasis on the Japanese "Older Man + High School Girl" fetish.

Petite Princess Yucie -- childish, pointless, didn't like the art style

I almost stopped DLing Mai Otome, but things improved after a few episodes.

There aren't too many more that I stopped watching, and I've never stopped collecting anything--this is one reason that I don't collect long series, since I'm a completist and don't want to waste money on questionable series. There are some series I picked up but probably won't watch, like Zone of the Enders, Ranma 1/2, and Saiyuuki (mainly because I don't want to watch a 50-episode series and 2 follow-up series). I'll have to see how things go with the Naruto watching and Kodocha collecting, to see if my stances will change.

Ai Yori Aoshi - From the first few episodes, I actually thought it would be a serious-type anime, until they ruined it with random gags and pointless fanservice.

Honey and Clover - Everyone seems to like it, but the main female lead (Hagumi) just looks way too small and acts too immature for someone who's supposed to be 18 (or 19?).

Detective Conan - It was fun until it was episode a hundred something...

Inuyasha, because the filler became more important than resolving the plot.

Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh because I grew out of it (years ago).

And of course, the worst of the worst, Dragonball, Dragonball Z, etc. etc. - I barely had the patience to watch ONE episode, not to mention 500+.

Serial Experiments Lain- I liked the whole plot, sounded interesting, but it was just way to slow, and i can't stand Lain, how she never talks to anyone and only says stuff like "yea" and "ok". After episode 2 I stopped.

Aww, you don't know what you're missing. It's still pretty slow, but it gets much better as it goes along.

I finished watching DBZ, but never started DBGT. I was sick of them taking 10 episodes of just staring at each other...and waiting 30 episodes for the planet to blow up when it was supposed to blow up in 5 minutes. Even towards the end I kept asking myself why I was still watching it.

I started watching Inuyasha on Adult Swim, and stopped after a few episodes simply because I couldn't make the obligation to sit in front of my tv every saturday night (or whenever it was on) So I missed a lot of episodes. A few years later finished watching the entire series though.

I watched Gundam Wing on TV, but never got around to watching anything else Gundam related. Mecha anime doesn't really suit my tastes...even though I really like military themes.

Mahou Sensei Negima, simply because I couldn't find past episode 17 (fansubbed). I probably could now if I tried, but I have other objectives...i'll go back to it someday.

And Creme Lemon Escalation, because I can't find the other episodes. I'd actually like to watch the entire Creme Lemon series but I don't like spending money. Confused

Pretty much just "Gilgamesh" and "Final Fantasy: Unlimited" for me.

I just couldn't get into "Gilgamesh", from the slow pace and odd story and especially the inconsistent animation quality which seemed pretty good at parts but most of the time looked pretty bad to the point it reminded me of old school Scooby Doo episodes.

As for "FF:U" it just didn't appeal to me, I found the voice acting to be pretty awful on both the dub and sub and the art style was just laughable, especially the monsters. It had a few shining moments but otherwise it just didn't seem all that interesting and there wasn't much of a "Final Fantasy" feel to it either.

The Melody of Oblivion and Record of Lodoss War both didn't grab my interest fast enough for me to want to continue.

Yes, worst thing about the anime, but imo she is not the main female lead, that role goes to Yamada. Hagumi acts more mature towards the end, and the other characters make this series really really worthwhile.

Send them to me, I'll watch them all, even though I've already seem them.. Wink

The ONLY series I've ever stopped collecting was Miami Guns. I actually bought all but the last volume, in the vain hope that it might somehow redeem itself. It didn't, and I just couldn't stomach shelling out for the last DVD.

I've never stopped watching a series that I've started, although I do sometimes take a break and check out other series for sometimes long chunks of time, but I always go back and finish.

I stopped watching Naruto around episode 130-something, part of it was due to the licensing, and the other part was because the series became filler. I guess it was just coincidental enough for me to stop downloading completely, so I did.

I still love a majority of the series through the Chuunin exams, Tsunade arc, and the really small Itachi arc, but something about that filler (I think they were trying to find Orochimaru, but ran into some girl whose brother was supposedly killed by him) just gave me a "meh" kind of feeling, and I've stopped watching it since then.

I also was keeping up with Fullmetal Alchemist for a while when it was on Cartoon Network, but I stopped watching it about halfway through, when they had to stop around episode 25. To wait for the rest of the series and only have to keep up with it once a week isn't something I like to do.

However, I have all the DVDs up to Vol. 6 and will try to watch them in chunks sometime. I like to watch anime in large portions to keep the continuity Anime catgrin.

I stopped watching DBZ after the Perfect Cell Saga and never really watched DBGT, but as for show I am collecting here I have a tiny little problem. I bought volume one of Otogi Zoshi and if a pretty good series so I hate to leave it not knowing what happen to all the characters. And the thing is this happens on a lot of different series that I watch, I hate buying a first volume and then stopping.
Case in point Kaze No Yojimbo the first volume gets you introduce to the city and really does not give you a whole lot to go on, but yet I bought the other five volumes..........damn ebay!
Till next time,

Delta Kiral
