meh hopefully, digimon will revert back to what the original series was; not crap. Every sequel to it, in my opinion, has sucked more and more (setting a pretty high suck standard for number five...) |

I don't think it sucked but lacked creativiy. digimon should have ended after the 3rd season. thats my opinion.

However the last movie was pretty good in my opinion. So maybe if the writers look back at the original and follow the formula slightly more tighter (no one likes a repeat) they could get the series back on track. That and they chill out with the some of the cliché characters they had in the fourth. (The cool mysterious guy, the whiny girl, the boy/digimon who doesn't know his true potential) give it a rest and come up with something new and they may (have) strike(struck) bronze with the 5th. |

I wonder if Gash Bell ended because they lost Ikue Ohtani (the voice of Gash). Because I thought it was doing fairly well in Japan. At least when I was there in September it seemed pretty popular.

thats a good question because if they end it at a cliff then they are going to have a lot of complaints but Zatch Bell and Digimon are on different stations in America. Zatch Bellis on Cartoon Network and Digimon is on Disney Channel

Chances are they'll be back some time later in some form of OVA (or possibly another movie). But as PantsGoblin mentioned, they're just shortening the season for Ikue's maternity leave (like when they shortened that one season of "Sex & the City" for when Sarah Jessica Parker was pregnent. {I know this through my sister.}) Once she's back, they'll probably start work on another Gash/Zatch Bell project.

I actually thought that it got better and better, especially around the half-way point where things took a sharp and sudden turn for the shocking .] The 3rd season did take a little getting used to at first, since I was expecting it to be directly tied in with the last 2 seasons so I was a tad disappointed when it wasn't, even though I thought the 2nd season was mediocre, with uninteresting new characters, weak story and an anti-climatic and ultimately cheesy ending. The 3rd season started off kind of slow and unmemorable, but towards the middle of the series was when things really started to pick up and things started getting exciting and emotional. If they cut out about 1/4 of the beginning and concentrated more on the darker parts of the series, it would have been truly excellent but it's still very good and is my favorite out of the first 3 seasons I've seen.

true but we also have to remember that the show is directed to a fairly yong audience and does not realize what something means in the story line if it changes.

No duh of course its for little kids, but there are still teenagers who watch it. Pathetic teenagers who have no other means of seeing anime (me)
And yes it should have ended |

The new Digimon series, Digimon Savers, actually seems to be aiming for a slightly older audience this time around, probably the older children/younger teens bracket. The animation style is more detailed than the previous incarnations with less cartoony/more realistic proportions on the human characters and a somewhat more animalistic look to the Digimon (think of how different Agumon and Greymon looked in the Digimon movies over the TV series). The main female character is 18 while the two main male characters are 14.
And hey, there are still adults like myself that actually watch Digimon because we want to! Emerje |

Zatch Bell is over as an anime, I don't if I'm sad or happy. I'm not so left behind in episodes but it has to end now. I always feel this way when an anime ends.
