Ok that is the only place I buy manga from(I trust amazon, its relatively cheap, and I have some stocks in it) and note its .co.uk NOT .com. That is the complete list of manga titles available on Amazon(note the 'more results' tab at the bottom) and hence the complete list of manga titles I am able to buy. so my question is out of those titles which ones are worth my time, taking into account these criteria:- I like romantic stories, I have no qualms with content being either violent, graphic nudity or gore, I vastly prefer 'cute' or 'moe' characters, good characterisation and emotional attachement is a definite plus, generic fighting anime like naruto, bleach and the like are definately out, but titles with 'heavier' aspects such as X or hellsing are still good, complex or ''sophisticated' are great, comedy is always a plus, and I LOVE the use of 'chibi' or 'deformed' characters if its done well(the Kare Kano anime for example) obviously I dont expect to find all of those criteria in a sinlge title but any title that meets any of them should be suggested(obviously adhereing to the link above). I've read only SaiKano so far and that was excellent and is a good example of what I am looking for. ps: dont bother telling of other places to buy manga or anime online, I am highly conservative and only use those that I trust, hence I will only bother using Amazon.co.uk so any other sites will be ignored. (if the above link feels too much like advertising then remove it if you must, but please tell me of a more acceptable way of presenting the titles I can actually buy) |

hmmm, I get it too now. Just go to www.amazon.co.uk as normal, do a book search and type in 'manga'. Thats all I linked to anyway. |

Ha, I beat LydiaDianne to it to recommend anything by Yu Watase, I checked the site and at least a fair number of her series were there. I'd say just take a look at the various story descriptions and see what interests you most. She has a lot of really fun series out there, that generally have a somewhat fluffy exteriour at times, but always have some deeper issues going on within them (the exception to this is Ceres, which really isn't very fluffy at all most of the time).
Also another shoujo manga that I really enjoyed was Mars by Fuyumi Soryo, and CLAMP is also a good mangaka group to check out. Hope that helps. |

I think you sould get Fruits Basket, I read the first volume and I liked it. I all so think D.N. Angel is a good manga to.
Or how about Loveless, i've never read it but it sounds good. And this last one isn't exactly a romance but I heard it's pretty good:Evolution (Princess AI) . Hope Helped. |

Fullmetal Alchemist is definitely worth checking out. I know it seems like another endless shounen action title, but it really does have a much deeper storyline than just fighting for some greater good of the world. I really enjoyed the first few volumes of the manga; it was a nice break from the endless chapters in Shonen Jump USA that don't seem to go anywhere. It takes more than one volume for the story to pick up though. If some suspense, mystery, and a bit of complicated storyline seem to be down your alley, Death Note is worth a try. I first became interested because of the artist, but the writing is also really good. It drew me in pretty quick. I guess you could say Death Note is "sophisticated". Yeah it's a Shonen Jump title, but its not like Naruto at all. Although it has supernatural elements (a black notebook - the Death Note - in which if you write a persons name in it, that person will die), the bulk of it isn't fantasy or Sci-Fi. Raito happens upon the Death Note and decides to use it to cleanse sinner from the world. Unfortunately, the power to do such a weighty task seems to have made him delusional. I don't read romances, but Fruits Basket is popular among a lot of people, so give it a shot. Last edited by .Sy on Thu Apr 13, 2006 6:44 pm; edited 1 time in total |

Nah it's okay. I just realized my typo made that part of my post a lot harder to read. Fixed.

"Evolution" is the name of Princess Ai Vol.3, so it might be better to read the first two. |

Yeah I agree. I was searching through the web for romance manga and that manga poped up even though it wasn't rated for romance and well that's the only volume of that series I could find. |
