well after reading my first manga, SaiKano, I was well pleased, the only problem was that it didn't last very long! I finished that one in a single weekend. Now I very much enjoy these romance stories(I'm a big sap you see) and I enjoyed watching the anime Kare Kano(at least the first 18 or so eps) and I heard that the mangaka quit the anime at some point(or the company changed or something).

now onto the topic at hand.

how long is Kare Kano?(how many volumes) Is it finished in English language releases? Is it good?

yeah, it's good overall but long. i believe it's almost finished at 25+ volumes or something. there is 23+ here in the US I think

The first 10 are quite kickass and conclude the High School arc... the rest is good depending how interested you are in the story and the drama in Soichiro's life.

The anime rocked but don't compare... they are quite different. For instance, are you used to Shojo looking art?

I did like the beginning of the series a lot, but then when they started talking about Soichiro's personal life and problems, I got bored of it and didn't want to finish it (but I will probably finish it sometime).

So you got bored with it when the story started to actually get interesting?

Kare Kano is very good, it is definitly a manga that I would recommend you read. It actually starts to get kinda dark in the later mangas, which is something that I really liked. Soichiro's past is quite dark and it makes for some great and touching scenes later on.

i just want you to know that your encyclopedia is the best on the net but searching for stuff is a pain. if your search was great, i would have linked it but it's not.

also, how come only some people get to review manga and edit information? i have been a contributing forum member for a year yet I still can't even "rate" a manga.

this site needs a re-design. i say that out of love, not hate.

Um...if you just go into the encylopedia, everything is listed in alphabetical order, it takes less than a minute to find any title listed that you are looking for.

Because they are ANN Reviewers and Encyclopedists, respectively.

It is being redesigned, but not because of those "problems" you mentioned.

everybody's expectations these days are higher. i'd personally prefer a search that included the encyclopedia entries

with searching for manga, there's the alphabetical pages, scrolling the page for that letter, remembering what the name is (sometimes it can be difficult because of the language and similarities in title names). i tried to do this with 20th century boys and gave up and did a search. the search showed a news item and inside the news item, i clicked it and got the manga.

i think a search is better than manually looking it up. that's my opinion.

i hate to sound negative because i'm not sure how much time you folks spend on this site with your own time

that's why i edited my posts

_________

my opinion on your attitude is this though: don't blame your users for not knowing something. blame yourselves for not designing something better.

It wasn't interesting. Trust me. As soon as the manga got into that part it became eye-rollingly bad. I stopped reading it there and have absolutely no desire to pick it up again.

I have to say that was the part that became very boring to me. When the plot started to focus on Soichiro's personally stuff it lost my interest. I don't really want to read about spoiler[Soichiro's younger life with his mother and how she treated him. Also, when he dad comes back (I haven't read that part) that might become interesting.] Also, it started to lose my interest around book 12 or 13, spoiler[because I really didn't want to learn about all the characters assoicated with Tsubasa (if I remember the name correctly. The girl with was in love with Soichiro and had the accident).]

Everybody has their own opinions about what is boring or exciting, and I thought that this series became boring. You may disagree, but this is what I thought about it.

You may want to try Hana Kimi. It is a lighter and funny plot that you might enjoy!
