I love the show. Is it true that it reads like an american book not right to left? Should I get the manga?

Yeah, Inu-Yasha is an older release so Viz reformated it left-to-right, but it wasn't originally that way. If you loved the show, I would recommend the manga, as there are many subtle differences between it and the anime. Many of the more annoying or hated characters are better characterized in the manga: for example Kikyo is less cold-hearted and easier to sympathize with, and Kagome is far more dynamic.
And of course there is none of the filler that was in the anime, nor does it end on a completely anti-climatic note (granted though, it's still going in Japan).

Why not? It barely makes any difference. And alot of really good older manga releases are flipped, and probably would never been translated in the first place otherwise.

Well, I can't say since I haven't read the manga for FMA yet so I can't compare. Which anime do you prefer? Keep in mind that FMA's manga is supposedly very different from the anime, and it is also much shorter than Inu-Yasha > therefore much less expensive to collect in the long run. (IY's 44+ volumes in Japan, FMA is 11+)

I would get FMA. It's shorter and much more interesting (IMO) than Inu-yasha, which makes me feel like I'm wasting my life away reading the same thing over and over. I didn't really dig the Inu-yasha humour either. FMA is quite different from the anime as you read on though, so don't be surprised. Frankly, I don't think I could take more than 30 volumes of any series.

Is there something wrong reading it left to right? It's more natural for western that way, but whatever float your boat.
As for FMA vs InuYasha, it depend on what you're looking for. If you're a fan of InuYasha, it's worth it to get the manga. But I enjoy FMA a lot more.

Kagura dies towards the end of the anime after trying to betray Naraku.

Actually, Kagura dies shortly after the point where the anime ended, which was around volume 38. Also for your other question, Koga has just recently joined Inu-Yasha's crew in the latest chapters after telling his two buddies that it was too dangerous for them to follow him anymore.
