I don't think anyone knows what the future of the television series may be. By anime standards, it's clearly been a hit. It drew audience ratings in the 3-4% range when it ran on Saturday afternoons, and the popularity of both the anime and the manga rationalized the investment in a feature film.
Apparently Koyama took a break from the manga to develop the film script, so there are not enough chapters left for a full anime season. I suspect the series will resume when there is sufficient material. In the short run, though, I could imagine the existing 99 episodes being re-run after the movie is released. After that, only Koyama and A-1 can say.

It's been bugging me for weeks over whether or not ANN didn't announce that Space Brothers anime will end cause I was caught off guard when my bro told me. All I know is Kindachi FIles R took over its time slot.
