It seems 2025 was a pretty good year for the Japanese box-office, not just for Infinity Castle's huge success, but also Chainsaw Man, and their international performances were incredible as well. Not to mention that it seems Kokuho became the mos successful Japanese live-action film, which is pretty rare since almost all of the most successful movies in Japan are either anime films or Hollywood production
Speaking of Hollywood, I don't know why Zootopia 2 isn't included on the list, since it was released in Japan weeks ago, and it already grossed the equivalent of $60 million dollars.

The film made more money than F1 and Superman. I can only imagine how the sequel will do.

The Japanese box office year goes from December to November, so Zootopia 2, which was released in December 2025 in Japan, will be included in the 2026 box office report.
