...They were initially asking $150k for 5 minutes of animation? What? & it's USP is simply that it will mimic filming from a first person perspective? Does that mean lots of that awful fake shoulder cam effect Time of Eve & Hibike Euphorium used? I sure as hell hope not.

I'm really confused over this project, I can't tell whether it's a game or an anime. But someone will have to provide a break down of the costs on why they're asking for so much.

It's two separate kickstarters. The anime one has $150,000 as its initial goal, and the game one has $800,000. They also break down the costs on the page for the Kickstarters. Anime kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/red-ash-magicicada-by-studio4c Game kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mightyno9/red-ash-the-indelible-legend (I am a backer for the anime one). |

Okay. I see. So they are funding a film and a game. Hmmm, I was looking at the game, but I'm wondering if they are trying to do something akin to Dragon Slayer since they are calling it an animation game. But 12 minutes? I guess animation is expensive. Just ask Kick Heart and that was at least a little longer. |
