I'm just waiting for this one to air. I really, really hope it succeeds. I need more male idol anime. If they play it right, this could be the next Boueibu in terms of success.

And we have Love Live!, Wake up Girls, Locodol, Idolm@ster etc...for the guys.
If anything, I'm glad us girls are finally getting another idol anime which is not UtaPri.

UtaPri's a reverse harem, this is all guys.
And I'm glad of it! I don't mind harems, and I like female characters in them just fine if they're well-written, but the generic girls that get used for reverse harem mains are so often dull, or insufferable, or insufferably dull. I'd much rather an all-dude cast than an all-dude cast inexplicably in love with a cardboard standup girl (who is cute! and hardworking! and a little clumsy! but friendly! and an easy viewer surrogate!). I'm really in this for the guys and their relationships with each other, I'm not really interested in transposing myself on a blank female lead. (Which means I'm not really the target audience for Reverse Harems anyway!) If the main girl is interesting, I don't mind? But it's nice to have bishonen shows that don't bother with that setup and are willing to stand on their own, like this. I'm glad to see more of them.
(I like what I've seen of the UtaPri guys? But I just couldn't hack more than six episodes of ol' wasserface.)
BUT THAT'S ALL OFF TOPIC! So! I'm also looking forward to this. It's always nice to see Koyasu doing stuff, too, even if he doesn't do leads as much these days. I wish there was a bit more variety in the character designs, though.
