I didn't know much about X Japan other than that they were a thing, but I've watched them on the last two Kohakus and this year's freaking blew me away:

Accordingly, I just bought their album "Blue Blood" a few days back, since it has "Endless Rain", the song they performed on Kohaku. I guess the next thing I need to do is watch that "We Are X" documentary.

I highly recommend watching "We Are X"! It is an excellent documentary, being an X fan or having an affinity for music documentaries is not a requirement to enjoying the film.
