Pleasantly surprised to see Zasalamel back, considering he was introduced in Soul Calibur III, and VI is meant as a prequel.

The leaks have been pretty accurate so far, but I'm glad to see it confirmed Zas will be set-up earlier than SCIII's chronology. It's nice to see a fighting game retell an old story with more nuance and foreshadowing rather than vomit something new each entry.

If I recall correctly didn't the producer of the game call VI a reboot of sorts? That said, if it's meant as a prequel then that lowers the chances of them bringing Talim back Sad

It's a "reboot" in that it's retelling the canon events of SC1+2 while expanding on the lore from later games (Kilik's malfestation seen in-game, Groh's implied connection to Algol/Zasalamel) If they could justify Zas appearing before SCIII, Talim has a shot.
