I would love to do this, however its at the worst time for money right now. My wife and I have been wanting to do Pacset for a couple years now since finding it on ANN's ad space. We're excited for many of their tours. Maybe next year we can afford the monthly installments for 2 people.

For those who go, we hope you have a ton of fun! This looks amazing!

Seems like a pretty interesting trip, though not for someone like me who has been to Japan 16 times and has already seen most of the destinations Laughing

But for a first time Japan traveller with an interest in otaku culture, this would be a great start. And especially great to see a trip focussing on beautiful Tohoku instead of the predictable central/western Japan route. Maybe a tad expensive, though it might not be fair to compare to the price level I'm used to as a solo traveller, which tends to be quite a bit more flexible and thus cheaper in Japan.

Priceless perks you get while traveling with me:
Arrow Positive reinforcement on all your purchases. "Yes, that looks amazing on you, get two."
Arrow Peer pressure to eat food you'd otherwise be wary to try.
Arrow Overflowing excitement whenever we encounter an animal.
Arrow HQ Selfies

I'd love to go on this trip, since my previous two visits have both gone west rather than north, but the timing is awful. No way I could miss almost two weeks of school.

Flying over as a group, rather than meeting in Japan (as my last two tours did) sounds fun, though!

I would love to test that Very Happy
(How about some tasty funazushi? Torisashi? Motsunabe? Horumon? Shiokara?)

I'll try almost any food at least once and try to make a habit of it when I travel. Even if it's smelly.

I will join you for any of those! (I've already tried and like them all, except funazushi, which I haven't tried yet).

I'm almost certainly going to pop in on the tour for at least a day or meal in Tokyo. Debating whether I'll join for any of the Tohoku part.

I think I might offer to take people to Tsukiji (not Toyosu) for sushi one morning.

Took this tour. Had a great time. Absolutely perfect for people travelling to Japan for the first time.
Just a heads up though, you will walk. A lot. And Japan ain't big on benches.

Well, those reactions surely don't disappoint. It almost makes me book the trip just to see what foods you can come up with to challenge me Very Happy

(just some natto is enough to throw me off my game though...)

Tht price is horible at 4k with round trip. Out of new york with round trip cost me 1k for the flight n i went to a 50 a night hotel in ikkebukuro. I dunno how long the stay is but for 4k you could go for a month by yourself and im assuming lax is cheaper then kennedy. Getting around isnt hard just bring a tablet pc as there is free wifi everywhere, just research places to see near tokyo before going and youll have something to do everyday. Also buy the jp rail pass so u can use the bullet train to get to osaka n kyoto for day trips. The pass is only for foreigners and i believes allows free travel for duration of the pass on all jp rail trains which is the bullet train n local trains all around japan. You can rent a phone at the airport if needed and withdraw local currency at 7/11 before you go get a td bank account as they only charge 5 dollars per withdrawl, with draw the max which was 50000 yen at the atm to minimize the atm fee.

They use metal rails....

Its to prevent homeless from sleeping on benchs in the streets.
