Finally - I've been waiting for this ever since the first part aired.

I assume if they dub it, Funimation will handle it and do what they did with Log Horizon and try to get as much back of the cast as possible.

I doubt it. Crunchyroll (formely Funimation) can handle the dub and home video.

I'm not expecting much given how awful the last one was. Like, who thought that was a good idea at all?

If Sentai does end up moving forward with a new dub they better step up in casting and voice direction. The latest released dub season of Food Wars felt uninspired in both departments certainly capable of better results.

I am not gonna defend False Faces as they goofed a few things up that will need to be corrected in order to proceed with MOT. At the same time it was not terrible, and FF was only half of the story as everything was setting up for MOT.
I am surprised however that Sentai let Crunchyroll have this one, considering their past attachment to the franchise. Let's hope Crunchyroll doesn't screw up the localization like Sentai did with FF.

I have tentatively higher hopes for this one. It's worth keeping in mind that production on The False Faces started before the game was even released in Japan, and the director hadn't played the game and intentionally changed the direction and tone of a lot of scenes.
Since Mask of Truth has been out for six years now, hopefully the anime will turn out a lot better as long as the director tries to stay faithful to it. The biggest concern I have is just that it's a very long story -- the game is easily >50 hours -- and they're probably going to cut a lot of material unless this is a 3 or 4 cour series.

It makes me nervous that we don't even have a trailer (as far as I know) this close to airing, but I haven't even gotten around to playing Deception/Truth yet so I wouldn't be able to watch it anyway lol

Do wonder how they'll handle the scene the anime didn't have which is actually a pretty important part.
Where the party goes into the ruins and finds out about the slimes being what's left of humans.
Guess they could just have it be a flashback.

The anime left out and changed quite a few important details; I think an even bigger issue is how Vurai and Oshtor fought inside the city instead of on a cliff at the end, and Nekone wasn't responsible for Oshtor's death. That's gonna completely ruin at least one major arc unless they retcon it...

I don't think it's going to be that big of a deal. She can still blame herself for needing to be protected. It's less compelling, but frankly, that particular arc had a great setup and proceeded to just sputter out. I remember thinking that an incredibly balsy choice would have been to make Nekone the main character of the second game, but then it became clear they didn't really have any interesting plans for her.
More generally, as much of a fan of those games as I am, I'm pretty open to seeing a very different take on the stories. There are a lot of dead ends and fizzling outs. The second game itself is structured in such a way that it's actually just 2 completely separate and almost mutually-irrelevant stories, the second of which ends in what is basically a re-run of something we've already seen in that universe.
