It's honestly a masterpiece. I really wish more people knew about this. If you want, you can literally take anyone that's not even really familiar with the source material, sit them down with no context, and you have a wonderful unsettling/spooky film to watch for the holidays. It's a bit of a slow burn but WOW it's a fun film.
You get more out of it if you've seen the several episodes they've already done with this cast, but it's wild to think that Netflix has such an uphill job trying to adapt all of these anime and video game properties, and then here's Amazon just casually dropping some Silent Hill/Fatal Frame-caliber horror in the Jojo universe and perfecting it for live action. |
