I'm not a fan of MF Ghost by any means, but I'm not sure if the author is aware just how funny of a statement "It's just a direct continuation of the events from season one, which are already paced such that it sometimes feels like one very long race punctuated with engine trivia". The reason the pacing feels like that is because the first season of MF Ghost is one race? Its a professional competition with 5 rounds, each consisting of a time-trial qualifier and a main race. No hate, just feel like it's odd to imply the opposite, that its a string of separate races, like Initial D was.

| Quote: | | It's still a little laughable that Kanata's 86 GT is meant to hold its own against a stable of supercars |
It really isn't, though. Enough mods can make any car a supercar beater, there's a wealth of youtube videos out there showing just that.

The anime brings a driver that knows he's good. Does not need the money or fame. Oddly uses this to find his dad. They skirt around the characters we know only showing one or two faces. The drama with the girl is pointless. Show more racing. I note the cgi is great but the way it is presented is different. Initial d had better race angles and story telling the drama was held in each turn. Here they breeze through it without caring. I'm sure it's a different perspective like pro driving tracks but it lacks what initial d presented. It is a bit more boring. If inhad to root for a team it would be the brother sister or his gtr friend. Their passion is way more noticeable. They could have easily made his love for racing seem to awaken. But they didn't. He is a robot. The best robot.
