These don't appear to be pre-painted, which I'm guessing the target audience will enjoy, but I hope some pre-painted miniatures eventually get released. I wouldn't mind picking up a few to collect

They most definitely ARE pre-painted. Otherwise they wouldn't have completely plain bases.

They showed off the sprues, and they are plain grey plastic. I am guessing that the studio painters either “masked” the bases, or just waited to glue the mini on until after they were done painting. (Personally, I use the latter option, as I use laser-cut cardstock base inserts, and it is a lot easier for me to paint the details on them before gluing the miniature onto the base.)
