Seems like a weird decision. I get they're probably quick and easy cash-ins but after the most recent one of these was actually pretty well received by the fandom seems weird to go, "And now you can go buy the old ones everyone dunked on again!", feels like it kind of runs the risk of diluting the brand while it's still being built back up.

Yeah it seems like it would have been best to try and move past them. I don't think I've ever heard a positive thing said about The Lost Valley lol. Skytree Village was honestly almost the same game but improved (even has some of the same cast) but it wasn't great either.
I haven't played any Natsume games since Skytree but I had heard they were improving.

Wow, Natsume is still churning these out, eh? I don't think I've played a Harvest Moon game since Natsume and Marvelous had their split. I haven't heard much about the series since then though so I can't imagine they've been putting out anything noteworthy.

They've kind of gradually gotten better as they've gone? Winds of Anthos is the only one to really reach the level of, "Yeah, this is pretty good," but the series has broadly trended positively from starting out very messily. ... Unfortunately these are the ones they started with so, y'know.
