I sure that this is because of the 10 year anniversary, but it's still kind of an odd thing to do. It's not a compilation film or some special. It's just certain episodes.
I don't know. It kind of feels like someone is aware that Tokyo Ghoul was getting set up to the THE thing, and is still trying to ride that. Unfortunately, subsequent seasons already got in the way of those expectations.
