If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.

I'm actually curious about this, as I've always been curious about the original Dodge Danpei. I first found out about Dodge Danpei back in 2004, when I was first truly getting into anime, as I had seen the outstanding comedy film Dodgeball & wanted to know if there was an anime or manga about the game... which more or less instantly got me to find out about Danpei.
I've never read the manga but I did manage to watch the first three episodes a number of years ago, and I found them to be fun & pretty charming, so hopefully Dodge Danko is similarly charming & fun.

Wow, seriously? This is getting an anime?
The original Dodge Danpei manga was localized in my country and I really liked it when I was a kid. I had mixed feelings about this one since it felt more like a genderbent rehash AND they just killed off the old cast.
It has its own charm, I guess?

I wonder which studio is animating it. Don’t tell me it’s Bones again? they’ve been adapting CoroCoro Comics lately..

afaik Fate Rewinders is their first time adapting a CoroCoro manga (and even then it's because Rie Matsumoto is a fan of the manga).

Dodge Danpei's anime was a lesser know anime of the "anime boom" of the 90s all around the world. It wasn't as successful as Captain Tsubasa or Gambare Kickers, though. Here it was one of the rare animes that had both OP and ED translated into Spanish (usually they repeated the OP or left the original ending). Strangely enough, the songs were never released in CD or tape.
