I'm glad Yamaguchi is getting to work on Digimon again while the franchise is in a healthier place than it was during Savers

I’m pretty excited for this. The fact that Toei has already released a subtitled trailer hopefully means that they’re aware that this franchise has a big worldwide following. They need to let Crunchyroll or someone give it a simuldub.

I'm cautiously optimistic given the last two Digimon series were rather disappointing.
I thought Makoto was a girl for a second and that we'd have our first Digimon anime with an evenly split gender ratio.

Whoa there, buddy.... Digimon might be evolving, but it's ain't evolving that fast. Joking aside, I was hoping there were split 50/50 as well. What it is with these shows and only ever one token girl?

I absolutely agree. Whether its Crunchyroll, Viz, Netflix, or even Amazon a simuldub on a major streaming platform could help a lot, especially with a game they're pushing coming out around the same time.
Digimon Adventure: took three years to get a dub and Ghost Game ended it's run almost two years ago and we've heard nothing about a dub. Thankfully Digimon Story: Time Stranger is getting a dub and hitting the new anime with a dub at the same time could be a good way to kickstart the franchise again in the West.

Actually, Ghost Game is getting an English dub that supposed to air in the UK later soon this year with the first 33 episodes being confirmed to be dubbed.

I did hear that the new anime producers had experience with Precure; I wonder if that's why they chose the director and writer that they did. Though the writer would make sense anyways since he does have Digimon experience, and Saver's 20th anniversary is coming up next year. Savers is my personal third favorite season, so I'm excited.

I'm glad to see a new Digimon anime and hopefully one that doesn't shoot itself in the foot appealing to the Tiktok generation this time.

I think most relevant to Digimon is Yamaguchi was also series composition writer on Digimon Data Squad which is one of the best seasons of the show.
