Bracing for a batch release that completely destroys discussion and stops word-of-mouth dead in its tracks

Hard to say if Netflix will do a Weekly release for this series at the same time as the Japanese version like they did it with My Happy Marriage, Delicious in Dungeon and Sakamoto Days of if it will pull a "Seven Deadly Sins Four Knights of the Apocalypse" and "Stone Ocean" which leads to the Netflix Jail debacle from Fans, so we'll have to wait and see for ourselves.

Still, I would like to address the "Elephant in the Room" and whether Bang Zoom! Studios who has dubbed the other JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series, including Stone Ocean, will be utilized since Netflix removed them as a Dubbing Partner in August of 2024, yet strangely they were able to do Sakamoto Days. In the case with Sakamoto Days, that's one of the biggest head scratchers, considering Netflix licensed the show in July of 2024, and coincidentally, Bang Zoom! was removed as Netflix's dubbing partner in August 2024, yet oddly enough, Bang Zoom! recorded the dub of Sakamoto's first season in October/November 2024, according to the behind-the-scenes video at the 3:04 mark. Likely, the show's production committee and animation studio (TMS Entertainment) might've convinced Netflix to have Sakamoto Days be recorded at Bang Zoom! to which Netflix obliged much like when the anime production committee of Delicious in Dungeon coerced Netflix to have the show dubbed at Bang Zoom!, even if it means moving forward, Netflix won't send any New future anime to Bang Zoom! Studios following the studio's removal as their Dubbing Partner in August 2024 which looks to be the case with most of the anime Netflix licensed and released (e.g. Moonrise, The Rose of Versailles, Leviathan, My Melody & Kuromi, The Fragrant Flower, etc.). Yet when compared to the Netflix anime that were previously recorded by Iyuno, which resulted in their sequel series and new seasons being sent to either VSI Los Angeles or Dubbing Brothers USA, with the anime recorded at Bang Zoom! (e.g., Seven Deadly Sins series, Sakamoto Days, etc.) It's the opposite cause, possibly Bang Zoom! put a clause to any client, including Netflix, that any anime commissioned and sent to the studio, including new seasons and sequel series, will continue to be dubbed at the studio in perpetuity, so no doubt that would explain why Season 2 of Seven Deadly Sins Four Knights of the Apocalypse was still recorded at Bang Zoom! and it wouldn't surprise me for the upcoming second season of Delicious in Dungeon and Steel Ball Run Bang Zoom! will still get to dub the show.

I think it depends on whether or not it’s actually airing on tv or if it’s only Netflix that determines if it’s batch vs weekly.

Stone Ocean aired weekly on television (parts 2 and 3 were even on television a month after the second batch release, airing unbroken from October to April) and it was still saddled with batch releases

That doesn't seem to the case anymore? Stone Ocean aired on TV after it started streaming on Netflix. I recall it started on December 1st on Netflix with 12 episodes and weekly from January 7th for the TV broadcast. It took a break and returned September & December to stream the final 2 batches the following year on Netflix and in October the remaining episodes started being broadcast on TV.

So this is set in an alternate world from the Stone Ocean timeline?

Just curious, does the Manga revisit the original timeline?

Yes this is its own timeline, the original timeline starting with Phantom Blood ends on the epilogue of Stone Ocean with Irene (the Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan episodes can get hazy on which timeline it's all supposed to take place in, since the latest one directly references events from Jojolands)

At least better than Crunchroll or Hidive's worldwide stream barring ONLY Asian regions behind geoblocked.

I wish JoJo was still being streamed on CR. You still got it later on Netflix, so everyone won. Now you are getting seasons of JoJo stuck on Netflix forever.

Hidive was never "international" and they are in fewer countries now.

Asia has about 20 options to stream anime on though. AniPlus, Ani-One, Muse, Netflix, Prime & Animax just about cover most if not all of it.

I don't think JJBA is in any danger of falling into obscurity or finding it's audience.

Eh, I wouldn't say "stuck forever" since there were digital & Blu-ray releases of Rohan & Stone Ocean from Viz a few years later with both getting the same treatment as the other seasons (well, more so Golden Wind's sets with the packaging).

This is exactly what happened with Stone Ocean, as can be seen with the trepidation of basically everybody else in this thread and generally on any social media post you see about this announcement. It is quite literally the prevailing takeaway from Stone Ocean, the thing people will immediately mention when you bring up the Stone Ocean anime, that its release schedule kept it from reaching the heights of past seasons and discussion was basically nonexistent
