Here's another undeclared anime that I'm rooting for. It's not that it looks all that mind blowing, but it's a comedy romance not set in a high school, and I figure it deserves support for that reason alone.

I am starting to get a little worried about the season since ten premieres in my rating has not once gone above okay yet. That also goes for Awkward Senpai in that it is a fairly standard yet charming enough office romance. Kannawa is a likeable mess and she is very much trying while not being aware of how she actually comes across to others.

Yah, I didn't like this one as much as A Star Brighter Than the Sun, but that might be because I watched A Start Brighter than the Sun first, and two romantic anime back to back just isn't good for my blood sugar. Next week, I might save this one for Friday morning or afternoon.
The lead female does have some pretty amusing moments. Does anybody remember the socially awkward, intense female lead with a good heart from The Ice Guy and His Cool Colleague? She became more socially adept by helping out a coworker, and this lead is trying to up her game in order to be a good mentor. The difference being that the guy in the Ice Guy anime had a crippling shyness and premature evaporation problem, and this male lead seems inclined to help as much as be helped. I also think of it as not bad. |

With episode 2 it becomes clear that the show is a bit different from The Ice Guy and His Cool Colleague?. Ice Guy has both main characters appear in the spotlight to showcase their point of view and issues. My Awkward Senpai seems to focus almost solely on Kannawa. I think that they made a good decision with that since her being clumsy yet trying is the only real selling point. Be it her trying to ask Yuu to eat lunch together, play a game or refuse to let him work alone (until way too late in the evening) it is wholesome.

At some point awkward becomes too awkward for me. Azusa during the party was just that, she was fumbling around so hard that I found it hard to keep watching. A trip to Okinawa sounds fun though. |

While sharing an umbrella can be a cute/romantic activity it is extremely foolish to do so during a typhoon. Due to the rain visibility will be poor and if the wind jerks the umbrella and you with it onto the road it may be game over. |

That was a comfy romcom. The main characters acted ten years younger than their actual ages but because of how charming the whole thing was I did not really mind. I would say it is one of the better workplace romance anime and there was a little bit of progress every week. |
