...just asking for a friend, is the animation quality going to be...better than the first season? and what happun that caused the first season to be...the first season?

It's too early to know for sure, but this season is animated by Studio A-CAT (the same as the first season). There's also a trailer that recently dropped. Feel free to watch and judge for yourself. I think that based on the trailer there is no improvement.
Anyway... Studio A-CAT is a low-budget studio. The creator (TurtleMe) made the decision to have them do it because of their passion for the story rather than technical capability
