The visuals look amazing, unsurprisingly from Science Saru, though at this point I really just want to know who is playing manga-accurate Major and the rest of the cast.

My beloved Fuchikomas, properly animated for the first time since the PSX game, I'm so happy! Sure, the Tachikomas carried on their spirit, but the design doesn't hold a candle to the originals.
Oh and the rest of the trailer looks great, that's the manga versions of the characters I love and I can't wait to see them go there and and there, and there too...

The animation looks fantastic and I'm glad they're going for their own style and not just copying Oshii's vibes and it looks very stylish.

Holy crap that music was so cool! Hope there's more like that on the soundtrack. The trailer's looking pretty slick, folks.

That old school anime art style is so good.

The manga and PSX game all have Fuchikomas.
Legally distinct Tachikomas are owned by IG. Is anything from 1.5 in here? Those 4 shorts could fit into the original plot without issues, as there isn´t enough for more than 3 hours of animation in the original manga. GitS 1989 was the moment Shirow tanked as a writer and he wasn´t that good even beforehand. US letter columns from the original run point out the decreasing quality of Appleseed, for example. The extremely inconsistent art of the GitS manga also killed my visual enjoyment but the anime is at least delivering here.
The original is comically sexist outside of the baffling multi-penetration lesbian threesome the author had to immediately backpedal from. You have goblin-esque scientists in lab coats delivering technobabble while their sex doll-looking female colleagues, clothed only in fetish underwear, stand next to them. All happening in labs during crime investigations. Literal assshots to distract the reader from how bad the storytelling is. The clearly unfinished GitS 2.0 is basically unadaptable, not even hyper fans have embraced it to the point that the Wikia still lacks a basic summary or explanation of who the protagonists are, so this latest universe can only end the same way the 1995 film ends.

I'm actually assuming and looking forward to the anime having anime-original episodic stories and arcs.
StandAlone Complex Season 1 & 2 were awesome, so even with the new anime style and characterizations, there is no reason not to expect some great new stories!
I actually hope they don't get to the manga's ending chapters and save it as the ending to a Season 2, 3 or more, while we get more original future cop episodes and seasons!
