I'd be very surprised if Universal picked Kirihito, since they might be forced to discuss some of the "questionable" content on the air. But maybe it'd be re-payment for Astro Boy helping NBC's ratings back in the day.

According to the article:

Universal TV isn't a bookseller or a librarian. Universal TV is just a broadcaster, one that has shown equally non-mainstream nominees when it hosted awards shows from other industries.
