Best anime of 2007? They must have taken this poll in 2006, you know, before GURREN LAGANN aired.
EDIT: and yeah, I guess before everything else aired, too. Most anime viewers in Japan had probably FORGOTTEN about sola by the end of '07 as a result of a glut of good series like Clannad, Gurren Lagann, Minami-ke, Umisho, ef ~a tale of memories~, Gundam 00, and even over-hyped series like Bamboo Blade, Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, and Dennou Coil, not to mention the in[re]flux of not-so-appetizing yet lucrative franchise series like Nanoha StrikerS, Shana 2, Zero no Tsukaima: Futatsu no Kishi, and Higurashi Kai. Incidentally, Gainax hit the anime fair hard, with Gurren Lagann (aka NOT sola) and Evangelion taking home animation honors (Dennou Coil, too, I think). Where were we? Ah yes. sola. sola. Charge 14.99 per DVD, and I might buy you. Higher than that, and the poor 34.99 Noein complete boxsets sitting on my Best Buy shelf are gonna knife you after the employees leave. |
