Have you ever seen a manga title or read about a manga somewhere and you're just like, "That is so awesome! I have to buy it!", only to find out it isn't in the U.S. yet? And you can't seem to find it anywhere else? Because I am really having that hollow feeling inside me right now...

No, but that's why I only look at manga that are available in the U.S. If it's not available, I don't read it, cause there is no point if I don't get to finish the series.

Fans of Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, the One True Manga, have been waiting for years for an English edition. Those of us who can read Japanese have worked our way through the original versions (I own a near-complete set), but the rest have had to make do with scanlations. Not that the scanlations aren't readable, but I would love to have a paper edition in English, for my son to read.

Neon Genesis Evangelion - This is one of my favorite anime, and I'd really like to read the manga (especially since the co-creator is the one that actually wrote it) but I've never even seen a copy of any volume. I'm pretty sure it's not out of print so I can get it from amazon or something but it'd be nice to just be able to pick it up.

I'd love to be able to read some of Watase Yuu's other series, since we only have about half of her stuff out in English, maybe. I've always been a bit surprised that Viz didn't start licensing her other stuff, especially now when they only have Genbu Kaiden and its releases are very far apart.
I'd also love more Yazawa Ai, in particular Kagen no Tsuki. This is another one that I'm surprised Viz hasn't explored more. They have a bunch of other mangaka where they seem to be licensing everything for, but not my two favourites. |

Indeed, I'm with Marie on this one..... I need more Watase's previous series!
I also would like to have most of Shiina Ayumi's series publish. |

Currently there is only one Manga that I wish they would hurry up and just finish in the USA.
That Manga is called Yotsuba&! they have up to volume 5 out, and have not put out a new volume in almost 2 years... Of course then there is the absurdly long wait for Hellsing (come on over 1 year for the next volume to come out of a rather popular series?) I know that some people get impatient, but I can wait. Since I am also a big Godzilla fan, I have waited over 20 years for certain Godzilla movies to come out on DVD in the USA. |

Eric: I feel for you. I want the rest of Cromartie and Hokuto No Ken to get out here.

It may feel that way, but it's not even been 1 year yet, since volume 5 came out I agree, though, that Yotsuba&! volume 6 must be one of the most eagerly awaited manga titles currently unscheduled. ~Althalus |

There are a three of series that I'd like to see based on their anime. They are in various stages of developement in the U.S.. First is Inukami, (coming in November), the series was fun and I wonder how the manga compares to it. Second, Gestalt, (licensed but no release date), the OAV was very interesting and I want to see how the whole thing continues/ends. Lastly is Shadowskill, yes, I know the series isn't all that well done but the OVA is and I find the world that it takes place in very intriguing, (no license no nothing).

I haven't worked through its Japanese version, yet I have a complete set (plus the first-press artbook and two OSTs).
That's a very noble cause (thumb).

i had a REALLY hard time finding it, too. i finally gave up on finding it in a store and ordered a bunch of volumes from rightstuf. it is completely worth it to see the manga adaptation. i love the anime, but the manga has some amazing moments, too. |

I read the first three chapters of Yasha (by the same mangaka as Banana Fish) scanlated and I believe those were the only ones translated. I really enjoyed it and wished this manga series was licensed in North America. That's basically the only series I can think of right now.

Another for YKK. I refuse to read any form of scanlations till the thing comes out in English (preferably by Del Rey). Technically, I have skimmed some chapters, but I've still kept myself from really *reading* it.
And also Brafman, but I've seen and heard nothing on that one. I have an artbook by the artist and really love his art style, so I kind of wanted to read one of his manga, too. I'd even import the Japanese version if I could find it anywhere. |

I can only think of Lucky Star, which Bandai should release soon. I generally do not read Japanese titles unless they are release in the states.
However, I have had your experience regarding titles that have gone OOP in the U.S. To name a few Sanctuary, Adolf, Finder (yaoi series), ect. It's sad because I could get some of the titles in the series but not all. (And my OCD will not allow me to survive without the entire series.) Sanctuary vol 7 is going for a ridiculous price on Amazon. *sigh* I'm learning to let go. |
