I want to give them money for this, it looks like a decent show. But just for a pilot episode, I did that for Under the Dog and that resulted in a prologue episode and a comment about maybe revisiting it in the future.

I primarily backed this because i wanted to support a young female director (who's actually worked on Sushi Police which was awesome!), not because the concept sounds especially unique. Though the "intelligent mechanical arm" part could be interesting and reminds me a bit of Parasyte.

I initially judged it as a My Hero Academia rip-off from the thumbnail alone but after watching the preview it caught my interest at the least so I may back it.

Why have both of the anime kickstarters I've heard about, this and UTD, feature pretty bland idea's. Surely a kickstarter is the place for an idea which is less likely to get made, rather than this...which whilst is looks okay, as UTD did, could also be made by any studio.

I don't want to get down on this project but I'd love to see more interesting concepts being thrown about here.

Well, I think whether or not an idea is bland or not, is in the Eye of the Beholder.

Your statement of what Kickstarter is, is not entirely true. Kickstarter is a place for people to fund their ideas or passion projects. Whether the idea is innovative or groundbreaking is not relevant.

I really want to back this. I think it has a good concept and the animation was top notch. Even though it's a rough draft of what it COULD be. Probably that can allow the backers to name the characters or offer up new ideas to the creators. I think it's pretty neat!

Just like UTD (where they did even say they had been offered funding), that is very true. I think with this though, it's not that the idea couldn't be made, the idea may have nothing to do with this at all, but that she can't get the idea made. This is just a Key Animator who has been working in the industry for a short time, they are unlikely to entrust her with a budget.

I could fiance 2 such eps. on my own, so the project is worthless. 25.000 for 25 min of real animation, with VAs and all? That´s impossible to say the least and such a low sum can´t even count as worthwhile venture capital. Do we lastly need more random anime that can´t even get a pilot out of the door in this bloated market?

I backed this a couple of weeks ago, it looks awesome! The tier prices are pretty reasonable too with good rewards. It is worth it because they plan to use the money to expand their production company and they ultimately plan to make Mech-UDE into a full season show.
