first it was cardcaptor sakura getting a new manga, now its utena. kinda surprising considering that it had a very conclusive ending.

I suppose revisiting the manga is the best way to go for Utena's 20 anniversary since with Tomoko Kawakami being no longer with us, as attempting to do a sequel to the anime is now unthinkable even if Ikuhara did desire it.

I'm thinking this is less a sequel and more an epilogue, based on how both the manga and anime ended. It was a touch ambiguous, barring that one bit of canonical promo art.

Loved the anime. I never read the manga so I don't know its story or how it ended but I wish the new chapter continued from the anime instead. I so badly want to know where Utena went.
