These are cherry-picked. I was at the panel, there were way more that were asked.

Cherry-picking the questions? Why not list most of the questions? Hopefully the other write-ups will be more complete. I say this because it doesn't help that there is a lack of YT videos of these panels. Darn cons and guests for being selective on which panels can be recorded.

I had attended this panel. These were probably some of the best questions asked. Unfortionately, with the limited amount of time only a few great questions got through. Someone asked if they could visit him in Japan, others asked about things he had no control over as a director, and there were just a whole bunch of filler questions that were about rumors, spoilers, etc. Overall it was a great panel, but I felt there were a lot of questions that didn't need to be asked.

What does he think of fanworks?

“As creators ourselves, it's very important for us to see our own works used as the basis for secondary creations. We anticipate fanworks and are rewarded when we see them. Sometimes we'll even beg for them.”

So, they are alright with fan works. Outside of fair use-type situations and creator/publisher approval (whether or not that involves purchasing a license is another story), fan works technically do fall under copyright infringement. If they are OK with doujinshi and fan art/fics
but not fan translations, clarification is a key.
