I’m actually glad about this. There are so many shows I want to check put this season, this one included that I knew I wouldnt have the time. This way I can wait for the Netflix release and watch it next season when they’re will be less anime to steal my attention.

Lucky you. Meanwhile this is my only real hobby so I run out of anime every season and i don't have the CHOICE to watch this whenever I feel like it. Instead, Netflix is forcing me to wait until FALL....or watch it elsewhere

Awesome! The manga is one of my mom's all time favorites. It definitely needs a multi-media presentation. Manga centering on music almost always fall short because of the lack of sound in an otherwise visual medium. You can draw great looking food in gourmet manga, but you can't draw great music or virtuosity. Piano Mori is one of those exceptions where the story alone completely carries. Should be better than the one shot ova from before.

Honestly guys, grow up. Me as a Dutch(netherlands/Europe) anime fan who cant stream anything legal has it way worse than any of you. Do you hear me complain as whiny little spoiled brats like you do all the time?

Just do what i do. Wait. Patiently.

being picked up by Netflix isnt so bad for people who like dubs. Considering the movie hasn't picked up yet the chance that the TV series would be licensed by Funimation or Sentai and get a dub should be low. Now we only need to wait for the release with a dub.

Guess I'll have to cross my fingers that some fansub group picks it up, hopefully this won't be a mess to hunt down like Fate/Extra

No. I don't have to wait so I won't.

Heard the first episode was a bad adaptation anyway and rushed through like 10+ chapters. My interest in the show pretty much went down the drain once it was confirmed for 12 episodes. A shame really since I've heard a lot of great things about the manga.

I don't know the manga but the first episode does end with the Piano Teacher hearing Kai play the Forest Piano for the first time and being astounded.

It is more or less in line with the pacing of the 2007 film but there does seem to be some differences - for example the initial introduction scene in the car driving in to town that was in the film is skipped in the TV series and they jump straight to the introduction scene in front of the class where he says he wants to be a pianist (after the initial "in the future" scene that we have all seen in the promo video of Kai in a concert hall).

It does seem like they are going to be galloping through the content at a fairly rapid pace yes but this is NHK we're talking about here - I bet there wasn't the budget available for a full 26 episodes.

The record company is lapping it up anyways - seems like they will be releasing a track every week after the episode of music from the episode.

Yes the first ep was rushed but knowing that it's a 12 ep anime it's better this way the most important things were still there and it was really well done.

And NO THANKS Netflix . I am fine with raw but i don't mind waiting few hours for crunchy - amazon and such but 2 seasons ... When you're hardcore addict fan who watch every series and can't bear to be late for each of them waiting that long is just impossible .

People keep asking Netflix to stop doing this, instead of their typical 1 cour delay we have now 2 -_- , well we still have TV and fansub so never mind

I don't mind Netflix getting 1 or 2 series for later. I always end up only following 5 to 6 shows weekly during a season and I'll be able to binge it dubbed in the end, which is a huge plus. And I'm not so entitled that I would actually go and negatively impact the show I want to support by streaming it illegally.
