The other co-developer, Guard Crush Games… well, I'm not sure that they make the best judgement calls on game content, so their presence is a bit less encouraging.

Bite your tongue, Heidi! Streets of Fury is an outstanding game, mixing together elements of Guardian Heroes, Streets of Rage, & combo-focused fighting games that delivers some of the coolest beat-em-up action of the past decade or so; it really felt like an evolution of SoR's gameplay. Sure, the digitized actors are weird, though I think that's part of the charm, but it's Guard Crush Games' involvement that took me from "Well, that's promising" to "Okay, Streets of Rage 4 is going to be awesome!"

Disregard, as this was an accidental double-post

Arcana Blood:

You might have already heard that Reisz and Hawkeye from Seiken Densetsu 3 were a part of the game's cast as a playable character and assist, respectively

That is...certainly an interesting pair of choice for the game. Then again, a Mana fighting game would be a pretty killer idea. I would love to see that happen.

In a surprise to no one, Falcom's making another Ys game that takes place after Ys VIII. What wacky hijinks will Adol and Dogi get up to this time?

Looks like Ys IX is the plan for now. Guess V has to wait a while longer before getting a remake that will finally take away its exclusive black sheep status. Poor thing has been neglected for years, but I guess Falcom wants another new title before they devote resources to another remake.

it's not that weird seeing SNK and Square-Enix being friendly now.The people that run SNK today are entirely different from the people that did back then.Only after they were bought by a Chinese company is that the lawsuit was dropped and they decided to make actual video games again(they were just as bad as Konami back then, caring only about pachinko, rereleasing their old games agan and again. and stuff)

Seriously, read those articles – if you think a certain ex-games writer got away with passing off others’ work as his own for too long, he's got nothing on Samuragochi.

Okay, are you speaking of a specific writer or just in general?

Anyway, good to see Onimusha back. Not surprising considering how unashamedly Japanese games like Nioh, Yakuza, and Persona are back in fashion. I'm not sure if it signals a new entry, but I at least want 3 back because that was by far the best of the games.

Anyhow, Yakuza Kiwami 2 is the enhanced re-release of Yakuza 2, which graced the Playstation 2 right at the end of its life. It's kind of a small miracle the original game released in English at all, really, but it's long been a favorite among series fans. Kiryu's world expands as he ventures to Osaka and Sotenbori to deal with a new rival from the Omi Alliance family. But the main selling point here is more Majima, and boy does it ever deliver on that front: he's got his own scenario that's completely new to this remake. Advice to the Yakuza dev team: always more Majima.

They need less Majima and need to focus more on making less tedious or boring minigames (some of which are simulation for no reason), while not tying completion of these minigames to trophies, letting us play arcade games as many times as we want, writing stories that aren't rife with plot holes or other writing flaws, making the games truly open world, having female enemies.

And consider doing a remake of Yakuza 3 that retcons spoiler[Kiryu & Kaoru breaking up].

Will SoR4 have only Axel and Blaze? In this case, I think it would be a great chance to build for more than two player characters playing simultaneously.
