Shinobi is completely different from Basilisk. they really can't be called the same thing in my opinion.

They're both based on the same source material and they both use the exact same set-up, setting, and characters. (Albeit Shinobi's cast is half the size.) They also have the same basic plot structure. How are they "completely different?"

yeah it's the same basic structure, but the way it played was totally different from the manga/anime like for instance, the manga/anime ended with spoiler[Oboro and Gennosuke committing suicide].

I have seen on a couple of forum sites a few inaccurate details on the bonus features etc. I didn't want to start a new thread so I thought I would tag the info on this thread instead to clear any confusion.

On Shinobi there is an English Dub. The cast used for the English Dub is our cast from the Anime series Basilisk.

This is a two disc set to keep the high quality of the movie.

The 35mm in film festivals has the international subs and we will have an improved one on the final disc.

The bonus extra's list is as follows: VFX Behind the Scenes, Director Storyboard Collection, Weapons Introduction, Shinobi Action Sumpu Castle Fight, Shinobi Art Manjidani, Original TV Spots and Trailers, Storyboard Collection.

i personally enjoy the manga much more. I agree with the review that the mains didn't have much chemistry going on between them. I was actually pretty disappointed
