Shueisha must be doing something right in its promotion of this series, since I hadn't heard of it before today and decided to give it a try via Viz's website. Turns out it's pretty good!

Tezuka was so competitive that I can't see that happening. It would be funny, though

Akane-banashi has been great. The subject matter made me worried it wouldn't last in SJ, but I'm glad to see it getting the praise it deserves.

Akane Banashi is the second coming of Act Age. Let's just hope it doesn't get murdered by the people behind it being criminals.

Honestly, that was all the recommendation I needed. I am apparently starved for manga revolving around up-and-coming female artists.

Everyday I pray this series doesn't get cancelled. It's so good but the subject matter is so niche, but all these public shout-outs are a good sign!

I'm enjoying this series a lot so far! It's really interesting. I also was worried based on the subject that it wouldn't last, but I'm glad some big names are giving it the praise it so rightfully deserves.
