I would have to say that I more or less agree with the review, although I did buy the audiobook, which has a rather smooth and pleasent performance from Veronica Taylor. Despite this, I still listened at 1.4x speed due to it still mostly feeling like an interesting, but bloated, Wikipedia article. The most glaring ommission to me is something Callum brings up; thr book goes into great detail about the how and why of Pokemania, and many of the other franchises around it, but not the who. I was anticipating to have more stories about Pokemania from the former kids who loved it, their experiences now in terms of the franchise and in Pokemania's wake. None of which is really present.

Also, while I understand it's not necessarily the book's fault due to its focus, I would've liked a bit more on how the Pokemon brand and fandom managed after Pokemania's end. Once it finnally runs out of information regarding that period, the book ends with a flash forward prolouge, even though I believe the story of Post-Pokemania is still important to the story of that period in time.
