I assume these episodes are steamy, right?

Or am I thinking the second season...

I already have the Geneon release (plus all of the manga), but this is a show all ecchi fans need to watch. At least the banana scene is worth watching.

So, did they also grab the TV versions of season one, nullifying the entire point of the show?

I'm guessing this is North America only since I can't see those videos on Youtube - I'm literally getting "This video is not available" rather than it being blocked in my region. Looks like Geneon are only dealing out US licenses to the US, that or they are just re-inking whatever deal they had with Geneon USA under a new name. For titles that are unlikely ever to see a DVD release here it is a shame.

No, it's the unedited DVD version. FUNimation only shows the edited version when there's loli nudity involed (Sekirei was streamed uncut, whereas Strike Witches & Sacred Blacksmith weren't). However, since there actually IS loli nudity in later episodes of Girls Bravo, it makes you wonder what they're gonna do.

I wouldn't be surprised if it gets censored for the stream (was the nudity for those two shows full-frontal?), but the DVDs shouldn't be an issue. They were uncut the first time around, after all.

But wow, Girls Bravo? I think it's been six years since I saw the show. Confused

What I watched of the 1st episode on their site showed me that the stream is... partially edited?... I mean, I saw nipples, but whenever it was full body nudity it resorted to brightness. I guess that makes sense since they are still under-age girls even if they're not lolli.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but FUNi haven't licensed it, right? If so, then it might be the hint that FUNi had already licensed it.

Never had it on DVD and never seen it before (besides the manga version). Sad

I also receive such a message. Perhaps Funimation are simply using a different YouTube feature to impose the block.

From a look at the first few minutes, it seems that Funimation hasn't changed anything about the subtitles except for the style and color. I was hoping they'd go through and give them a little re-write. Girls Bravo falls under the same condition that several other NGP releases did: amazing English dub scripts penned by talented ADR writers, and subtitles that never get a look from a native English speaker. So you get brilliant lines like:

"But, since my height is so short, I've always been teased by girls."
"How lovely it is, that face of yours..."
"After we rest a bit, we should change locations."
"No! 'Took a bath together' is not what you think!"

Not that it matters to me, since I already have the Geneon DVD release and have no need for Funi's streams/DVDs. But it would be nice if Funi could do a little touch-up between the streams and the final versions.

Wait... what's wrong with that? Are you against putting commas after prepositional phrases/dependent clauses?

I'm a computer science guy, but I know rudimentary English commands that if you're starting a sentence with with a dependent clause then a comma must be applied.

Notice that if it is "We should change locations after we rest a bit." there is no comma needed because the sentence starts with the independent clause.

Not sure of the context, but "change locations" is a literal translation of "idou", which is probably better said as simply "move" in english (depending on the context).

I'm guessing it was just that the line was clunky and strange, not that it was grammatically incorrect. Assuming that's the case, the line should be more like:
"After we rest a bit, we should move on."
"After we rest a bit, we should head out."
"After we rest a bit, we should go somewhere else."
Saying that they should "change locations," especially if it's being spoken by a more informal character, sounds awkward. It seems like Geneon did some direct translations, rather than adapting it a little to sound natural.

Aaaaaaaaaand this is why people should buy the DVDs, so they can listen to the hilarious dub. Liam O'Brien in particular is amazing as Fukuyama.
