Closing Ceremonies

by Crystalyn Hodgkins,

The closing ceremonies kicked off 15 minutes late, but to a completely packed room. The two Anime Boston mascots, A-Chan and B-kun, came on stage to perform a skit to introduce the con chair and vice-chair, Andrea Finnin and Victor Lee. Finnin and Lee thanked everyone for coming, and then showed a video reel of some of the guests and attendees thanking the fans for coming to Anime Boston.

Finnin then asked the guests to come on stage, starting with the Japanese and musical guests: Shinichi Watanabe, Yasuhiro Koshi, Shinichiro Kashiwada, Tomohiko Ito, IBI, Yousei Teikoku, ORIGA, and Raj Ramayya. Lee and Finnin then brought up the American guests: Chris Ayres, Greg Ayres, Christopher Bevins, Zach Bolton, Lauren Landa, Cherami Leigh, David Matranga, Bryce Papenbrook, Monica Rial, Rachel Robinson, Stephanie Sheh, Micah Solusod, Kari Wahlgren, and Tom Wayland.

Finnin and Lee then revealed that more than 400 staff members worked on the show this year, and they brough up some of the executive staff, who each introduced themselves: Michael Lee (Director of Technical Operations), Michael Ray (Director of Programming), Dave J Lyons (Treasurer), Tuan Pham (Director of Public Relations), Sarah Hodge-Wetherbe (Director of Guest Relations), Lauren Gallo (Social Media Coordinator), Stephanie Simpson-White (Japanese Guest Relations Manager), and Matthew Miller (Theme Coordinator).

Lee then announced that Anime Boston 2014 will be held on March 21-23. Lee and Finnin again thanked the attendees for coming, and said they hope everyone comes back next year. The closing ceremonies ended with a video showing all the music videos for the winners of the various categories of the AMV contest.
