Viz to Preview Spring Weapon No. 1 Manga in Shonen Jump

Viz Media's English digital edition of Weekly Shonen Jump announced on Monday that the next issue will publish the first chapter of Tomohiro Hasegawa's Spring Weapon No. 01 manga on October 17 as part of the magazine's "Jump Start" initiative. The manga will begin on the same day in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in Japan.
Viz announced last week that it would add two new Jump Start series, but had not yet confirmed the title or release date for the second series. Ryō Ishiyama's Amalgam of Distortion, the first Jump Start series Viz announced last week, debuted today.
Hasegawa previously entered Shonen Jump's "Gold Future Cup" contest, and though he did not win, his Koi no Cupid Yakenohara Jin one-shot received a serialized run in Shonen Jump. Hasegawa also published the one-shot manga "Shimatsuya K" in Shonen Jump last November.
