Trivia:

Umao and Ushiko frequently appear in this anime series quoting Romeo and Juliet. Their names literally mean "horse-man" and "cow-girl", respectively.

In the 11th episode (Don't ring! Wedding bell), Kyousuke has dream sequences of him viewing a wedding in despair. This is a parody of The Graduate (a 1968 Hollywood movie) which starred Dustin Hoffman.

The cat Jingoro was named after an Edo-period wood sculptor Hidari Jingorou, who was thought to have carved a famous Sleeping Cat sculpture at the Nikkō Toshogu (A Shinto shrine built in 17th century in the Kanto region of Japan).

Matsumoto Izumi once admitted that Ayukawa Madoka's physique was inspired by the American actress Phoebe Cates.

Episode 40, which features an over-sized Jingoro terrorising Tokyo City, is an obvious spoof of the 1964 tokusatsu kaiju film "Mothra vs Godzilla".

In episode 19, the movie of the young couple being stranded on a deserted island is a reference to the movie "The Blue Lagoon"

In episode 28, Komatsu and Hatta are looking into a photo album to check who the girl they just saw is. Instead of girls, you can see pictures of Samerar, Hamburar, Nazorar, Bidamalar and Kendamalar, which are Vader monsters from Denshi Sentai Denziman

In episode 40, the name TAP Gun is a clear reference to the movie TOP Gun from 1986.

In episode 40,Kyosuke's attack "Super Dimensional Comet Pegasus Major League Attack #1" consists of the word "Pegasus" which is a reference to the anime Saint Seiya. Kyosuke is being voiced by Tōru Furuya, who is also the Voice Actor for Pegasus Seiya from the Saint Seiya anime.
