 In Robotech II: The Sentinels, we follow the crew of the SDF-3 as they prepare to take off on a voyage to a distant star system; and we watch as a hostile alien race, bent on revenge, annihilates the population of the homeworld of the Robotech Masters.
 Robotech II: The Sentinels was originally conceived as a 65 episode follow-up to the enormously popular Robotech television series. But, due to the whims of television programming, Robotech II was never completed. Production was halted near the completion of the fourth episode. The feature length film which is presented here for the first time on laserdisc with additional "rediscovered" footage, is compiled from this animation.
 The story fills in many of the mysteries presented in the original series and hints at the special brand of excitement viewers learned to look for in Robotech.
