Canadian Artist Publishes His 1st Manga Volume in Japan

Spider Man Loves Mary Jane's Takeshi Miyazawa draws manga based on Lost Planet games

The first compiled book volume of Lost Planet: Bound Raven, the debut manga of Canadian comic book artist Takeshi Miyazawa, is shipping this Saturday from ASCII Media Works. The story is set between the first two games in CAPCOM's Lost Planet videogame franchise. Miyazawa launched the manga in ASCII Media Works' Monthly Dengeki Games magazine last March.

Miyazawa has worked for America's Marvel Comics for many years and was the artist of the series Spider Man Loves Mary Jane through its 15th issue; he still creates covers for the series. He has also created art for Viz Media's now-defunct Shojo Beat magazine. Similar to Felipe Smith (Peepo Choo) and Jamie Lano (New Prince of Tennis assistant), Miyazawa moved to Tokyo in 2006 to break into the manga industry.
