Maid Sama! Manga Cover Recreated in Live-Action

Nogizaka46 idol Minami Hoshino, contest winner Hiromu Mineta cosplay as main leads

To celebrate Tuesday's release of Hiro Fujiwara's 16th Maid Sama! (Kaichō wa Maid-sama!) manga volume, bookstores throughout Japan began hanging a poster that recreates the cover of the volume in live-action. Minami Hoshino, a member of AKB48's official "rival" idol group Nogizaka46, cosplays as the title character Misaki Ayuzawa. Cosplayer Hiromu Mineta won the chance to be the main lead Takumi Usui in a contest voted on by readers.

The duo also created a hypothetical cover for Hakusensha's LaLa magazine, the home of the manga:

The website for the contest posted a video (in Windows Media format) of the photoshoot.
